AEScripts Again v1.0 Script for After Effects Full Version Free Download

Reusing animation in Adobe After Effects sounds easy until the starting and ending values change. Copying and pasting keyframes works well when an animation needs to be duplicated exactly, but it becomes much less useful when the same motion needs to begin from a different position, scale, or value. AEScripts Again! v1.0 is designed to solve this problem by reapplying the movement of selected keyframes while treating the current values as the new starting or ending point.

Created by Adam Sacks, Again! focuses on a very specific part of After Effects animation workflow: repeating motion without repeating the original property values. It can be used through a dockable ScriptUI panel or through a supplied hotkey-oriented script.

What Is Again! for After Effects?

Again! is an After Effects script that repeats the motion of selected keyframes at new starting values. Instead of copying the exact numerical values contained in the original animation, it applies the movement itself to the current state of the property.

This makes it useful when an animation needs to be reused while starting from a different position, scale, rotation, or other supported property value.

The official AEScripts listing describes the tool as a way to repeat animations at new starting values while avoiding some of the limitations of ordinary keyframe duplication.

Repeat Animations Forward or Backward

The position of the After Effects playhead determines how Again! applies the selected animation.

When the playhead is placed after the selected keyframes, the repeated animation starts from the playhead position. When the playhead is placed before the original keyframes, the animation can be applied in reverse so that the selected motion ends at that point.

This makes the tool useful for both continuing an existing animation and creating a preceding motion sequence.

Reuse Any Part of an Animation

Again! is not limited to repeating an entire animation. Artists can select only part of an existing keyframe sequence and repeat that section elsewhere on the timeline.

This distinction is important in motion graphics because a complete animation often contains several different movements. A designer may want to reuse only the bounce, overshoot, rotation, or transitional section rather than duplicating the entire sequence.

The selected motion can also be repeated on a layer that already contains other animations, allowing the new movement to coexist with existing keyframes.

Apply Motion to Another Layer

Another practical feature is the ability to transfer motion from one layer to another. The workflow involves copying the desired keyframes, selecting the destination layer, positioning the playhead, and running Again!.

Because Again! applies the motion rather than the original property values, the destination layer can begin from its own existing values.

This can be especially useful when several elements need to share the same movement while remaining independently positioned.

More Flexible Than loopOut Offset

After Effects already provides expressions such as loopOut("offset") for repeating certain animations, but that approach does not always provide the flexibility required during design work.

Again! allows users to choose which portion of an animation to repeat and where to repeat it. The repeated motion can also coexist with other animation already present on the layer.

This makes the script more suitable for situations where a specific movement needs to be reused selectively rather than turning the entire animation into a continuous loop.

Scale by Amount or Proportion

Scale animation receives special treatment in Again!. The script provides two different approaches: repeat by amount and repeat by proportion.

Repeating by amount continues the same numerical difference. For example, an animation moving from 50% to 100% has a change of 50 percentage points, so the next repetition can continue from 100% to 150%.

Repeating by proportion instead considers the relationship between the values. A change from 50% to 100% represents a doubling, so the next repetition would move from 100% to 200%.

This distinction is useful for designers who need repeated scaling to behave either linearly by value or proportionally by relationship.

ScriptUI Panel and Hotkey Workflow

Again! provides two ways to access its functionality. The main ScriptUI panel is dockable within After Effects and includes a control for running the script along with the scale repetition mode.

For users who prefer keyboard-driven workflows, the package also includes a headless JSXBIN file called Again-Hotkey!. It can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut or used with KBar.

This makes the tool suitable for both panel-based and shortcut-heavy After Effects workflows.

Useful for Motion Design

Again! is particularly useful when an animation needs to be repeated across multiple objects without forcing all those objects to share identical starting values.

Typography, icons, interface elements, logos, decorative shapes, and repeated motion-graphics components can all benefit from this approach. Instead of rebuilding an animation every time an element needs a similar movement, artists can reuse the timing and motion characteristics while retaining control over the destination layer’s existing values.

This can make repetitive animation tasks faster while preserving the flexibility needed for individual elements.

Fix Spatial Bezier Reuse Issues

Again! also addresses situations involving spatial Bezier animation, where simply copying keyframes may not produce the desired reusable motion because the original spatial values remain tied to their initial positions.

By applying the movement relative to the current values, the script provides a more practical way to reuse certain positional animations in new locations.

This makes it particularly interesting for designers working with animated paths and moving graphic elements.

Again! v1.0

Again! v1.0.0 is the initial release, published on September 11, 2026. The first version introduces motion-based keyframe repetition, forward and backward application, partial animation reuse, cross-layer motion transfer, scale-by-amount and scale-by-proportion options, and both panel and hotkey workflows.

The product uses a Name Your Own Price model for individual users, with $5 shown as the suggested price on the current AEScripts listing. Business and team licenses are subject to the stated licensing terms.

Compatibility

Again! currently supports After Effects 2021 through 2027, according to the official AEScripts listing. It is intended specifically for Adobe After Effects and does not require an additional host application.

Who Should Use Again!?

Again! is aimed at motion designers, animators, editors, and After Effects users who frequently reuse existing animation but need that animation to begin from different values.

It is particularly useful for repeated interface movements, graphic elements, typography, icons, logos, and other situations where copying the original keyframe values would create unwanted results.

Final Thoughts

AEScripts Again! v1.0 addresses a simple but common After Effects problem: how to reuse an animation’s movement without being locked to the values of the original keyframes. By applying motion relative to the current state of a property, the script makes it easier to repeat sections of animation, transfer movement between layers, reverse selected motion, and create new variations from existing keyframe work.

Its support for partial animation repetition, scale-by-amount and scale-by-proportion workflows, spatial Bezier reuse, and hotkey operation makes it a focused productivity tool rather than another large animation framework. For motion designers who frequently find themselves recreating the same movement with different starting values, Again! provides a compact way to reuse the work they have already created.
